Erasmus zu Ermgassen, MRCVS
I am a scientist at UCLouvain working to improve the transparency and sustainability of supply chains for products such as beef, soy, and cocoa. I am a lead researcher in the Trase initiative and co-founder of 'do Pasto ao Prato', a citizen science project and consumer-facing app which reveals the origin and impact of beef products sold in supermarkets across Brazil.
A qualified veterinarian and big data scientist, I study the global food system by combining data and insights from geography, agriculture, supply chains, economics, life cycle assessment (LCA), and spatial analysis. For more details, please see the "Projects" page. I have a PhD on sustainable livestock from the University of Cambridge, UK.
