Erasmus zu Ermgassen, MRCVS
I am Assistant Professor in Geography at the Earth & Life Institute, UCLouvain, where I work to improve the transparency and sustainability of supply chains for products such as beef, soy, and cocoa. I am a senior researcher in the Trase initiative and co-founder of 'do Pasto ao Prato', a citizen science project and consumer-facing app which reveals the origin and impact of beef products sold in supermarkets across Brazil.
My research blends methods from geography, land system science, engineering, economics, and citizen science to map the supply chains which connect agricultural producers with urban consumers around the world. For more details, please see the "Projects" page.
I teach courses on 'Statistics in Geography' and 'Sustainable Urban Spaces'.
